Skills
Profound knowledge of semiconductor and solid-state physics
Understanding of the properties and functioning of semiconductor materials and microelectronic devices
Basic knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, e.g. lithography, etching and doping
Experience with measurement and analysis techniques for characterising materials and devices
Experience with laboratory and measuring equipment, depending on the role also in a cleanroom
Knowledge of Python, MATLAB or comparable tools for data analysis and evaluation
Responsibilities
Develop and characterise semiconductor devices and microelectronic components
Investigate the electrical and physical properties of materials and devices
Carry out and evaluate measurements to assess devices and manufacturing processes
Analyse defects and process deviations and identifying their causes
Optimise devices and manufacturing processes in terms of performance, quality and reliability
Develop and test new semiconductor technologies and support their transfer into production
