Skills
- In-depth knowledge of process engineering, e.g. thermodynamics, reaction engineering and separation processes
- Knowledge of the planning and execution of laboratory and pilot-scale trials
- Experience in the analysis and interpretation of experimental data
- Understanding of the transfer of processes to industrial plants (scale-up)
- Knowledge of process simulation and simulation software, e.g. Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS
- Basic knowledge of the technical and economic evaluation of processes
Responsibilities
- Develop new process engineering methods and improve existing processes
- Plan, carry out and evaluate laboratory and pilot-scale trials
- Analyse trial results and use them to identify improvements to the process
- Scale up processes from laboratory and pilot scale to industrial conditions
- Assess new technologies and process approaches from both a technical and economic perspective
- Support development projects in collaboration with other departments through to implementation
