Practical information:

Location: Vienna; Austria: on-site | Visa requirements: EU work permit/visa | Language requirements: Professional level English, written & spoken, German is a plus | Internship time-frame: 01.10.2024 - 31.03.2025 (6 months) | Working hours: 30 – 38,5 hr/week

What will you do during your internship? 

As an Intern in our Center of Excellence, you will be part of one of our AI-specialized teams: Data Platforms & Engineering, Computer Vision, or Language Technologies – based on your experience and interest, we will decide together in which role you would fit best: Data Engineer, Data Scientist or ML Engineer. You will be surrounded by other Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Solution Architects, and Machine Learning Engineers, to learn how to deliver Data Science projects using best-of-breed Cloud technologies.

Your responsibilities may include (based on your area of interest):

  • Understand project requirements  and implement corresponding  solutions
  • Work with different cloud vendors such as  Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Write elegant  Machine Learning code in Python  and  develop quick prototypes  for business requirements
  • Learn how to  build solutions or ML learning pipelines  that meet our internal standards for security, availability, performance, maintainability, and best practices for high-scale cloud environments
  • Know how to  transform and convert data science prototypes  into production solutions
  • Work on dedicated projects,  for which you will be fully responsible under the guidance of your mentor and Buddy.
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies and  apply GenAI in practice (Language Technologies team)

Desired Competency & Experience:

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a master's program with a focus on  AI, Computer Vision, or Data / ML / Software Engineering
  • Machine Learning: you know the  basic concepts of ML  (e.g., train/test split)
  • Data Engineering and Databases: you know the  basic concepts of Data Engineering  (data ingestions, storage, modelling, queries) and of  different types of databases  (Relational, No-SQL, etc.) and Data warehouses
  • Coding:  you can write basic understandable and reusable code in Python,  with good knowledge and usage of  Git
  • First working experience within  Engineering/Data Scientist profession is a plus
  • Some  experience with different cloud vendors and use Azure, AWS, or GCP services  is a plus
  • Tech stack:  NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn
